Hi everyone! I have asthma. I have had it since I was 9. So really about 25yrs or so. I have been through so many meds in that time. I am currently on advair 500/50, Flonase, spiriva, I have albuterol for the nebulizer for when I am in trouble and I have a rescue inhaler. I just got off a round of prednisone. I had not had troubles for sometime, but this year has been a tough one. I have so many triggers, some of them being preservatives, like what they put on lettuce to keep it from browning. I have been able to prevent many household triggers the outside is different however!
When I was younger my mom and dad used to hand me a can of coke to drink during an attack, and as far as I remember it helped, and for me the cold air works sometimes. I remember being wrapped in a blanket and sitting outside in the cool weather with that pop and waiting to feel better. I have to admit these days as a busy mom and wife, I just never try them anymore. Whatever you do, never use a steam treatment!!
Asthma is very serious and is rising among children. It is due to so many things, but one of the things is the chemicals in our lives. We use them in our house we put them on our veggies. It is very important that we take care of our families and do what we can to make a change in our lives. I have!!

Just when you thought you didn't need it!
Remember back to the days when you were in grade school or even high school. How many times did you say something like, why do we need to know this, when will we ever use it? Well I can now say you will use it. You will have kids in school and they will eventually be bringing it home and saying I need help! These days in school kids are learning so much and much faster than we did. Now they are learning math in kindergarten, we learned to tie our shoes, put together puzzles and color in the lines. Now with kids in 4th and 5th grade my kids are working on things that I am sure I did not learn until later. Some common things on a math page would be a question about square roots, there is geometry on that page and well many other things. I remember when the math lesson was one basic idea for each lesson. Lets talk essays and themes, in high school these were more common place than grade school. I have found myself trying to recall how to write these ( have not needed to for years) and attempt to help my 5th grader put down the words according to the guidelines given. So many things I have had to reach back into the depths of my memory to lend my kids the help they need. On a typical day I do not use all the American History from class, and I am sure I thought way back when it was somewhat unnecessary to retain everything. But turns out I need it all! Don't get me wrong, I love that the kids are learning so much more at school. Their little minds need to stay engaged and interested and they just really soak it all in like little sponges! I really do love that! The things they are capable of, they now read music ( I have never learned that) and Jayden plays the flute wonderfully! I love what the school has done for them! The kids however, when tired of school or frustrated over school work say "why do I need to know this, I don't need it anyway" I can honestly say to them, someday you will have kids in school and you will need to know this!!

The Holidays are coming!
Are you feeling the holiday rush? I sure am. This time of year is so busy. Almost feels as though we skipped Halloween, I was already seeing Christmas out. Thanksgiving gets looked right over it seems most years.
We have a birthday the day before Thanksgiving this year. What timing right! Trying to plan that and make the holiday plan at the same time. It is just really bad timing. But looking around the stores, it is hard to find those Thanksgiving items. Christmas is already everywhere.
Speaking of Christmas and Birthdays, that is a trick itself this year. I have one turning 11 this year and for me it is so hard to decide what to get her. Not only that but you also have the Christmas gifts that need to be decided. My girls are at what I feel is a hard age, they are between the little and the big. So tuff!
I have completed some of my Christmas shopping, the shopping for the little nieces and nephews! So much easier! Also the oldest nephew and nieces were easy ( gift cards for them).
I sit here this morning sip my hot tea, and think about these things. I think I will have to say I am a bit excited about the realization that I actually have most of my shopping done. When adding the little bits up, it really adds up!

The older they get, the busier!
My girls are really growing up! Time is flying by, and I just can't seem to catch up. They enjoy doing all kinds of things:
Jumping on the trampoline together!
Walking their horses!
Playing with the dogs!
The girls are now in basketball! It will be Jaydens second year and Dakotas first year. Unfortunately I missed the first practice but their dad said they did great! They sure were excited when they got home! I will be sure to post their progress, I am very excited about this point in their lives and the possibilities of them being able to do things that I never did. They are a lot more athletic than I was at that age! LOL!!

Getting the kids ready to go back to school!
Oh it is that time again. I really dread getting the kids ready to go back to school. Seems like there is so much to do. It can be expensive also. My girls grow out of pretty much everything over the summer. Then the school supplies oh my goodness the school supplies. So much!
And then the shopping for clothes. Right now the girls are at the age they want a big say in what they get, but I have to say they are not always the best choices. It is always a struggle to get that compromise.
Well we survived this time around. The key to surviving it all is to bring backup! Yes Backup!! I was lucky enough to have a friend to help out. We had a great girls day out and all the work is done! We all survived the kids are set for the first day of school in a couple of weeks and my husband is extremely happy he didn't have to take part in the day!

What does it take to work from home?
First of all I want to say that working from home is wonderful. What I believe it takes to be able to work at home and to be successful at it is:
A big Why - Why do you want to work from home, is it to have extra money in your pocket or to help pay the bills. The thing that will really be there so that if you reach a low, it will carry you through.
The Drive - the thing that you have that allows you to wake up every day and stick to your plan, move you forward.
A Schedule - The schedule is very important, as a mom who works from home it is necessary to find the time to be with my family, and maintain the house as well as be able to maintain my biz in the right way. I do this for all of us, so with my schedule I do look at my day and week and make sure I have everything balanced.
A biz Hat - What this means is that if you are going to do your home biz successfully you are going to need to go at it like any out of the home biz. Think of it as if the "boss" is standing near. It is a great thing to be home, but when talking to someone, they are looking for what it is you know or have and will not want to be put on hold for a call from the sister, mother or aunt or whatever it may be.
Support - This is a big one! Support from a spouse is huge. As well as from family and friends. But what else is huge is support from others doing the same thing. This helps with ideas or problems with different things. So many times they are going through or have gone through the same things.
Goals - Goals are really important also. Without a goal, you have nothing really to look forward to. It is how we can mark our own personal success and achievements. No matter how big or small. You have to have short term and long term goals to be successful while working from home.
These are just some of what I think you need or what it will take to work from home. I have really enjoyed working from home and I must say that it is a work in progress everyday. There are definitely days when I am or feel I am out of balance. Maybe my goals don't match up, but I make new ones and move forward. But in the end I do love building my business!

Fun Follow Friday
Welcome to Fun Follow Friday hosted by Simply Stacie and My Wee View. A really fun way to find new blogs to follow!
Blogging
Blogging!?! What an interesting adventure! I may get the hang of it, at least I hope! I am going to do my best to be here daily. So far it has taken two of us to get going this far. I should have known this would not be a good week to attempt it, seeming how I have broke everything else in the house this week! I think it should be fun and I really do hope to bring useful things to my daily routine. My advice to you, when things start to go south, hold on to what you know will work.
